Lips sometimes get a little dark, and maybe one would want to flaunt them in shades of pink and cheerful colors! Fun fact- there are some easy stuff one can try at home with articles that might already be stored there! Gentle soothing for the lips!
1. Rub a Lemon Slice (The Sour Power!):
Do you know that yellow sour fruit? Lemon! In fact, it has something that is good for lightening black things. Just ask a grown-up to cut a tiny slice of lemon for you. Then gently rub it on your lips for a few seconds, anywhere from one to two minutes. Rinse your mouth afterward with plain water. Do this once a day and maybe your lips will start to look bright!
2. Put on Some Honey (Sweet and Sticky Helper!):
Honey is sweet and feels nice and sticky; it is also good for the skin! Put a little honey on your lips and leave it for about 15-20 minutes. After that, either lick it off (since it tastes good!) or wash it off with water. The application can be done every day to keep your lips soft and might help in making them look lighter.
3. Almond Oil (The Nutty, Gentle Oil!):
Almonds make the healthiest oil and are very gentle on the skin. Take a little almond oil and apply it at night before sleeping. Let it stay there while you dream all night! In the morning, you will find your lips softer, and they may also lighten a little by and by.
4. Beetroot Paste (The Reddish Helper!):
Beetroots are red veggies that can stain your hands! But this very color will help your lips become a tad pinkish! Ask an adult to mash a small piece of beetroot. Apply this red paste on your lips for about 10 minutes and wash it off. You might even notice a little pinkish tint immediately! You can do this every few days in a week.
5. Never Forget Sunscreen (The Sun Is Not Always a Friend!):
Just like the sun darkens the skin, it also darkens the lip. So when going outside, ask an adult if you can put on a special kind of lip balm that has sunscreen in it. This way, you can shield your lips against the sun rays.
6. Cucumber Juice (Cool and Mild Helper!):
Those are long green vegetables, which can be an excellent skin partner too! Ask your adult if you can have a slice of cucumber and try to squeeze out a little juice. Gently massage the squeezed juice onto your lips and allow it to dry before washing with water. You can repeat this procedure one or two times daily. Cucumbers are very soothing and will make your lips feel good.
7. Rosewater (Fragrant and Nice to Use!):
Rosewater smells of beautiful flowers! So gentle, it also cares for your skin! You can buy some from shops, while sometimes, adults use it to cool their faces. Dab a little rosewater using a cotton ball, and apply it gently on your lips a few times throughout the day. It can help soften your lips and might work on lightening them over time.
Important Things to Remember:
- Always ask a grown-up before trying any of these things. They might help you with it, and above all, ensure it’s safe.
- Be gentle on your lips; don’t rub them too harshly!
- A difference takes time. Never expect to see one today or tomorrow.
- If they are dark or sore, you might as well consult a doctor. They would explain to you what is going on and offer you help.
These few tips from home would be tiny little helpers for your lips! Just be patient, and always seek an adult’s help. Soon, your lips would be very happy and look just the way you like!
